Giovani Voci is a choir for girls, ages seven through fourteen, living in Pittsburgh and various surrounding areas. A descendant ensemble of Belle Voci of Pittsburgh, Giovani Voci’s goal is to create a safe space for girls to express their creativity through choral music. Belle Voci, our adult ensemble, provides role models for the young Giovani Voci singers. Women joining together to connect song and community is our mission. We offer a tuition assistance program for families who are unable to pay full price – no one should be denied the opportunity to sing because of financial hardship.
Giovani Voci singers will perform accompanied and a cappella repertoire spanning seven centuries – ranging anywhere from Renaissance love songs to contemporary jazz, gospel, and Broadway. The singers will learn healthy vocal techniques, music reading, solfege, musical expression and more.
Participating in choir promotes team building, collaboration, cooperation, self-awareness, responsibility, and a healthy lifestyle. Each individual singer’s contribution is important to the ultimate product of our collective group. Therefore, we strive to address the needs of each performer.
Rehearsals will take place at Faith United Methodist Church in Fox Chapel on Thursdays from 6:00-7:15 p.m.
In our 2020 fall semester, no tuition will be collected from families due to COVID19. We will be rehearsing and learning from home this September-December to keep everyone safe. Giovani Voci will be going virtual for the fall semester!
