Casey Thompson is a local musician and theater designer with a wide array of experience in percussion, music directing, conducting, costuming, stage managing, and singing. She has a bachelor’s degree in General Music with a focus on theory. She’s been playing drums since she was 10 and spent 8 years in the marching band between high school and college. Casey also has experience playing in several jazz ensembles, percussion ensembles, orchestra pits for western Pennsylvania high schools and colleges, and being the drummer for local singer/songwriter Mark Lykkos for dozens of pride events around Pittsburgh.
Casey’s music education at Saint Vincent College was focused on theory, and that’s one of her main focuses while teaching. Breaking away from the academic institution where she studied for 4.5 years, she is very proud to be working for Practice Makes Perfect Music Studio, a studio that celebrates diversity and promotes inclusion for everyone. She teaches private percussion lessons.
