For nearly 30 years, the Richard E. Rauh Conservatory at Pittsburgh Musical Theater has offered the region’s finest training in dance, music and theater for students ages 4-18.
We teach our students how to perform — but beyond that we equip them with the skills to work as a team, to communicate effectively, to handle disappointment and to exude the confidence that comes from knowing you gave your best. These traits will be critical to their success in our changing world, no matter what they pursue.
PMT graduates enjoy successful careers on Broadway and in film and television. They are also doctors, lawyers, teachers, arts administrators and successful professionals.
Our results prove that an education in the arts is a vehicle for producing a generation of strong, articulate and self-confident young people.
We offer classes for students from 4-18 in music, theater and dance with many performance opportunities throughout the year. Our teaching philosophy can be summarized in the phrases “sufficiently challenge but never overwhelmed” and “rigorous training tested regularly in performance.”
