Violin

Steve Goldbach is a performer and educator native to the Pittsburgh area. He is pursuing his undergraduate degree in Violin Performance at Duquesne University under the tutelage of Rachel Stegeman at the Mary Pappert School of Music. He currently teaches private lessons at Pittsburgh Music Academy.

Goldbach has freelanced throughout the greater Pittsburgh area, having been contracted by several regional orchestras including the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra, and Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. Goldbach has also won an audition to play first violin with the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra in the 2022-2023 season, where he has been given the experience to sit as associate concertmaster under the baton of Maestro James Blachley.

Steve is also an enthusiastic teacher, having completed his philosophy course (ECC) in the Suzuki method and working to complete his Volume 1 certification by 2023. He is enjoying this learning experience and is inspired by the Suzuki philosophies related to teaching and student engagement. Steve is welcoming to any student regardless of age, background, or experience level. He has found success in his studios through positive, effective teaching focusing on developing musical excellence through having fun.
