In the not so distant future, college applications and job interviewers are sure to ask, “What did you do during the 2020 pandemic?” What if you could answer: “I composed original music!” “I learned how to conduct an orchestra!” “I wrote my own arrangement and produced a recording!” TRYPOsphere! – is a cosmic series of online classes designed to strengthen your musical and media arts skills and have a blast at the same time!

Courses offered for Fall 2020 are:

  • Composing with Rob Traugh, Duquesne University;
  • Conducting with TRYPO Music Director Brian Worsdale;
  • Music Theory with Flutist Shantanique Moore;
  • Video Production with Photographer and Filmmaker Johnathan Wright
  • and Overdubbing with Pittsburgh Symphony Trombonist Jim Nova.

In addition, all TRYPOsphere members are invited to attend a Master Class series featuring special guests on topics relevant to today’s young musicians.

Tuition is $300; tuition assistance is available; and members of TRYPO and Youth Chamber Connection may be eligible for a discount. Classes available for students ages 13-19.

Classes will meet via Zoom and will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time for all in the class.
