Join Us For Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Workshop Series
UniSound DEIB Workshop Series
As we strive to make our spaces and programs more inclusive and equitable, we recognize the need for ongoing dialogue about how our personal and institutional biases might get in the way. This workshop series offers the leaders of community music education programs the chance to reflect upon how personal identity and organizational culture might reinforce racist patterns and what we might do to interrupt those patterns within the context of our organizations.
HYBRID SESSIONS
We will gather at Rodef Shalom (4905 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213) to hold space for these important and timely discussions, while also offering a remote option for participating. Each session will run from 11:45 to 1:15, with the main program running 12:00-1:00. Lunch will be provided for those attending in person.
CONTINUING THE CONVERSATION
Making progress in the areas of DEIB (both individual and institutionally) requires time for reflection, processing, and dialogue. One week after each of the hybrid sessions, we will provide a forum for follow-up via Zoom to further discuss the topics covered during the sessions. Forum time is 12:00-1:00.
