Mini-Grant Spotlight: Urban Impact
This past May, UniSound thought it would be fun to have a mini-grant contest for our member organizations. Each member organization could send us their favorite programming picture they took over the last year, and our UniSound Steering Committee would award $500 to their favorite. In total, we had four organizations participate and send in a photo. Each photo was so incredible that the Steering Committee awarded all four organizations $500. Now UniSound will have a small series to spotlight each organization that won.
Today we are featuring the first organization recipient, Urban Impact Foundation. Urban Impact Foundation is one of the newest member organizations to join UniSound. They signed on and made their directory listing in January of 2022. Urban Impact has been serving the youth of Pittsburgh’s North Side for over 25 years. By working to meet the needs of the whole person through holistic community outreach, they can bring transformative hope to Pittsburgh one person, one family, one block at a time. They offer a vast variety of performing arts classes for kids in elementary school all the way through high school. The winning picture was taken of some young performers last December in their Christmas show “Light the Night”.
